Best known for its popular Windsor EV electric crossover in India, MG brand sees a strong sales momentum in September
Despite car buyers holding purchases for most part of September in the anticipation of GST rate cuts, JSW MG Motor had a pretty good month. The company not only grew its sales but also set some new internal records last month.
JSW MG Motor sold 6,728 cars in September this year, as per internal wholesale data shared by the company. Compared to September last year, when the company delivered 5,021 cars, its sales grew by 34%. Although consumer interest remained subdued for the first three weeks of the month in anticipation of the tax reform, demand picked up immediately after. JSW MG Motor says both GST reduction and the start of Navratri boosted sales.
The company has not revealed the model-wise sales but it’s certain that the Windsor was its top-selling model. Retail sales data has shown that it was the brand’s no.1 model from January through August. Moreover, the electric crossover was India’s best-selling electric car for 11 months, from October 2024 to August 2025.
