GaadiWaadi –

The all-new Maruti Suzuki Victoris comes at a lower starting price of Rs. 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), as compared to the Creta and Seltos

Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Victoris in the Indian market. The price range of the new mid-size SUV starts at Rs. 10.5 lakh and goes up to Rs. 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Victoris goes up against the likes of the Kia Seltos and segment leader Hyundai Creta. In this article, we will look at a quick price comparison between the Maruti Victoris, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

To begin with, the Victoris is the most affordable option in this comparison if you want to buy the entry-level variant. Similarly, the automatic transmission range of the Victoris starts at Rs. 13.36 lakh (ex-showroom), which is also the most affordable option. On the other hand, the Hyundai Creta 1.5 NA IVT price starts from Rs. 13.87 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Kia Seltos 1.5 NA IVT comes in at 15.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

The top-spec ZXI+ (O) MT variant of the Victoris is priced at Rs. 15.82 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable than the top-of-the-line variant of the Creta and Seltos. The same goes for the top-spec AT/IVT variants.

The Victoris is also available with a CNG fuel option, priced in the range of Rs. 11.5 lakh to Rs. 14.57 lakh (ex-showroom), which the Seltos and Creta miss out on. In addition to this, Maruti’s new mid-size SUV gets an all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain option, paired with the AT gearbox, giving it a clear advantage over its rivals.

The strong hybrid powertrain option of the Victoris is priced in the range of Rs. 16.38 lakh to Rs. 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the ZXI+ (O) strong hybrid variant the most expensive of the lot, rallying ahead of the top-spec trims of the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta with the diesel automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos have the advantage of the diesel engine, however, it commands a premium of over Rs. 1.5 lakh over their NA petrol counterparts. Moreover, the Korean twins also have the option of a powerful 1.5-litre tGDi petrol engine, which is the most potent powertrain in the segment.

Overall, the all-new Maruti Suzuki Victoris comes out as the most affordable option if you are considering the naturally aspirated petrol engine, available in both manual and automatic transmission choices. Setting this aside, the CNG and strong hybrid powertrains are unique to the Victoris. On the other hand, the diesel and turbo petrol engines are the USP of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
