The much-awaited Skoda Octavia RS will be launched in India on October 17; Pre-bookings to commence from October 6
Skoda Auto India recently teased the all-new Octavia RS in the Indian market, confirming the launch timeline of October 17. The performance-centric sedan will debut in India in its latest Mk 4.5 guise, which is already on sale in the international markets. The Octavia RS debuted in the country earlier this year at the 2025 Auto Expo. Let’s look at the top 5 things to know about the Skoda Octavia RS.
1. Limited Units, CBU Import & Expected Price
The Skoda Octavia RS will be sold in India via the CBU route. This means that it will command heavy taxation, and we expect it to be priced upwards of Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Reportedly, the first batch of imports will be limited to 100 units.
2. Launch Timeline, Booking & Delivery
As mentioned earlier, the Octavia RS will officially go on sale in India on 17th September. The pre-bookings are set to commence on October 6, while the deliveries will start from 6th November. You can only book the sedan via Skoda Auto India’s official website.
3. Engine Specs
The highlight of the Skoda Octavia RS is its potent EA888 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, putting out 265 hp and 370 Nm of peak torque. It is the same unit doing duty on the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The motor is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The sedan can hit 100 kmph from a standstill in 6.4 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
4. Feature-Loaded Cabin
Being an international spec model, the Octavia RS will be loaded to the brim with advanced features. Some of the highlights include sports seats, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, aluminium pedals, satellite navigation and more.
5. Sporty Design Language
The latest Octavia RS features an elegant yet sporty stance. With the facelift model, the RS version gets a host of aggressive design elements, including dual-pod matrix sharp headlamps with DRLs, blacked-out butterfly grille, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, sporty RS bumpers and more. In addition to this, a sleek rear profile with LED tail lamps, subtle boot-lip spoiler and an all-black rear diffuser with dual exhaust setup is a part of the package.
