Mahindra XEV 9S will be launched in India on November 27 at the brand’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to take its electric game up a notch with the debut of the XEV 9S – a new, full-size 7-seater electric SUV. Scheduled for a world premiere on November 27 at the brand’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru, the XEV 9S will mark one year since Mahindra first showcased its electric vision with the XUV.e8 and BE.05 concepts.
The new SUV is positioned as the brand’s first “authentic” 7-seater born-electric vehicle as it is designed and engineered entirely around the INGLO skateboard platform – an architecture that forms the foundation of Mahindra’s latest EV lineup. Unlike conversions of ICE models, the XEV 9S has been built from the ground up for electrification – giving it a flat-floor cabin and exceptional interior flexibility according to the brand.
Thanks to its skateboard architecture, the SUV offers a low centre of gravity and a stable ride while freeing up generous space for passengers and luggage alike. Mahindra has also hinted at clever packaging solutions such as sliding second-row seats as it will target high comfort levels and convenience for all occupants – especially the families.

The company describes the XEV 9S as a vehicle made for those who “live large.” We have been referring to the Mahindra XEV 9S as the XEV 7e in recent months and is derived from the XUV.e8 concept. Judging by the test prototypes, it takes plenty of inspiration from the said concept in terms of design and appeal as well as the XUV700.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will become the homegrown SUV maker’s first-ever three-row zero-emission offering and it will be available with two battery options. We expect the same battery packs utilised in the XEV 9e and BE 6 to be offered with the upcoming model which may also get a six-seater layout.

Expect the driving range to be over 500 km on a single charge and it will support bidirectional charging along with DC fast charging. The interior will likely boast a triple screen setup, panoramic sunroof, multifunctional steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated and powered seats, adjustable headrests, automatic climate control and more.
