Hyundai India sold 70,347 cars in September 2025 with Creta achieving its highest-ever sales while exports surged 44 per cent on a YoY basis
Riding the dual wave of GST 2.0 tax cuts and the festive buying season, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has completed the month of September 2025 with a commanding sales tally. The Korean company reported overall monthly sales of 70,347 units which led to a 10 per cent jump from the 64,201 units it managed during the same month last year.
Of this, 51,547 units came from domestic dispatches while exports added another 18,800 vehicles. The second largest carmaker in the country’s SUV portfolio alone accounted for a significant share of the total – 37,313 units to be exact which resulted in the highest penetration ever in Hyundai’s Indian operations so far.
The volume figures translated to an SUV share of 72.4 per cent. Within the SUV stable, the Creta once again emerged as Hyundai’s crown jewel. The midsize SUV registered its highest ever monthly sales of 18,861 units last month – reiterating its dominance in one of the most competitive segments in the local market while other Hyundai SUVs also flourished.

The Venue compact SUV also chipped in with its best monthly tally in 20 months – moving 11,484 units. The next generation Venue is all set to go on sale in just over a month’s time and it will get a thorough revamp inside and out while the existing 1.2L NA petrol, the 1.0L turbo petrol and the 1.5L diesel engines are expected to be retained.
Exports proved to be an equally bright spot in Hyundai’s September numbers. The company shipped 18,800 units to overseas markets with a rise of nearly 44 per cent on a year-on-year basis. It is worth noting that this was also Hyundai’s best export performance in the last 33 months. The cumulative overseas dispatches from April to September 2025 stood at 99,540 units.

This led to a healthy 17 per cent growth over the same period in 2024. Hyundai’s executives credited this performance to the synergy created post-GST 2.0 which increased domestic affordability of passenger vehicles right on time when the festive season began unravelling. The company described it as “double-engine growth,” where both domestic and global sales are now scaling up in tandem.
