The list of least-selling mass-market cars in India under the Rs. 35 lakh price bracket includes models from top brands like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra
The top-selling cars in the Indian market always make it to headlines, earning accolades for the manufacturers for their sales performance. On the other hand, the low-selling models are often ignored by the brands as well as the media, keeping them hidden under the shells. For a change, we will look at the top 10 least-selling cars under Rs. 35 lakh in September 2025.
The aforementioned Rs. 35 lakh price bracket criterion ensures that the steeply priced CBU models, which anyway find very few buyers, are kept out of the list, giving us a clear idea of the least selling models.
To begin with, the Citroen eC3 electric hatchback is the least-selling car in September 2025, registering sales of just 17 units with a 39% YOY decline. It is followed by the second Citreon model in the list, the C3 Aircross, which managed to sell only 59 units, despite a 44% YOY growth.

Hyundai makes it to the list of least selling cars at the number 3 spot, with the Tucson only selling 85 units in September. It recorded a dip of 13% YOY. The MG Astor’s sales bar stood at just 90 units, making it the second mid-size SUV in the list after the C3 Aircross. It saw the biggest YOY decline of 88%.
The Jeep Meridian and Compass together made it to this list with 110 and 140 units in the bag, respectively. While the Meridian saw a staggering 100% YOY growth, Compass’ sales declined by 55%. The Mahindra XUV400 EV, which has always struggled to sell in good numbers, occupied the seventh spot with an 84% YOY de-growth.

The third Citroen car in the list is the Basalt coupe SUV, which managed to sell only 210 units in September 2025. This clearly shows that Citroen is lagging behind in terms of sales. India’s leading manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, also made it to the list with the Invicto premium MPV registering sales of 215 units. Last but not least, the Toyota Hilux recorded sales of 219 units with a 28% YOY growth.
To conclude, Jeep and Citroen together have a total of 5 cars in the least selling list. Both these manufacturers are a part of the Stellantis group. Apart from this, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, MG and Toyota have one car each in this list. While the Tucson, Invicto and Hilux are relatively high-priced offerings operating in the low-volume segments, the low sales of Astor and XUV400 EV come down to their lacklustre appeal.
