Mahindra will target multiple segments with as many as four new launches in 2026; here’s a look at the models that are expected to make their way
Mahindra & Mahindra has laid out an extensive product roadmap covering both refreshed versions of existing models and all-new electric vehicles across various segments. With multiple launches planned over the coming years, the company looks to consolidate its portfolio and appeal to a diverse spectrum of customers.
One of Mahindra’s upcoming projects is a compact electric SUV positioned below the XUV 400 and it could rival models like the Tata Punch EV. Drawing inspiration from the popular XUV 3XO, the new EV is expected to offer two battery options with a claimed driving range likely over 450 km on a single charge. While largely following the design language of its IC-powered sibling, the SUV will feature subtle cosmetic tweaks to set it apart in the growing electric segment.
Mahindra’s Vision S is gradually approaching production with recent spy shots revealing a near-final prototype undergoing road testing. First showcased at the Freedom_NU event in Mumbai, the SUV drew eyes for its upright stance and busy design elements that echo the Scorpio N. It is expected to slot into the compact or midsize SUV segment.

The Vision S appears to be nearing the final stages of development – making a launch next year seem plausible though the exact timeline remains unclear. The reason for the uncertainty lies in Mahindra’s earlier announcement: SUVs based on the new NU_IQ platform are not expected before 2027. As a result, the Vision S launch could happen only in 2027.
When it finally reaches showrooms, the Vision S is expected to mirror the XUV 3XO’s engine offerings with both petrol and diesel powertrains likely paired with manual and automatic transmission options. Stepping inside, the SUV will feature a cabin equipped with a large touchscreen, six airbags, automatic climate control, etc.

Mahindra is also preparing a mid-cycle refresh for the XUV 700 ICE, expected to debut in early 2026, featuring updated styling that draws on contemporary design trends. At the same time, the company’s XUV.e8 three-row electric SUV, clearly influenced by the XUV 700’s design language, has been frequently spotted during testing and is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated launches next year.
