Tata is working on multiple new product launches over the next half decade including seven new nameplates for India
Tata Motors is gearing up for an extensive product overhaul that will span well into the next decade. The homegrown automaker has lined up more than fifteen upcoming vehicles for the domestic market. But the real headline grabber in Tata’s long-term plan is the introduction of seven all-new nameplates to cover more ground across key passenger vehicle segments.
At the forefront of this lineup will be two highly anticipated launches – the production-spec Sierra and the road-ready iteration of the Avinya concept. Both have been showcased in various prototype forms before but the new generation Sierra is expected to hit the market next month as it will get both ICE and electric versions.
It will be followed later by the Avinya which will sit at the very top of Tata’s range. The all-new Sierra’s electric variant will arrive first. The ICE model will more likely be equipped with the new 1.5-litre TGDI four-cylinder petrol engine producing around 168 PS maximum power and 280 Nm of peak torque. It could be accompanied by a 2.0L diesel mill.

It must be noted that the electric version of the new Sierra will be available with two battery options as the claim driving range could go all the way up to 500 km between charges and it will slot between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. In addition to the confirmed new nameplates, Tata is working on new models as divulged in a recent dealer meet.
The lineup will also feature a combination of conventional and electric vehicles including two ICE models known internally as Product A and Product B along with a pair of EVs designated as Product X and Product Y. To back this expansive plan, Tata has set aside an investment of around Rs 35,000 crore across various assets.
